Locate Service
Have no idea where your cesspool or septic system is? VIP can help. We can find the location of your Individual Wastewater System (IWS) by using a camera to inspect your sewage line. The camera can also determine how full the septic or cesspool is and whether it needs pumping. Once we locate the IWS a marker will be placed to identify it. Here are some common questions to consider:
- Do you have a cleanout pipe? A cleanout is a piece of pipe attached to the main sewage line which can be opened by unscrewing the top. It’s about 4″ dam. The cleanout pipe provides a break in the sewage line where our camera can enter to do the inspection. Most homes have cleanout pipes but sometimes they may be inaccessible or hidden from view. Our technicians can find the cleanout pipe, usually located outdoors near your kitchen or bathroom.
- If you do not have a cleanout pipe, we can enter your sewage line by removing your toilet and routing the camera through the toilet hole. Our technician will both remove and re-install your toilet once the locate is done.
